Alaçatı, is like a heaven for holiday. As soon as you hear the name of the place, it reminds you sea, sun and beach. Its old town, streets and magnificent history and limitless entertainment is speechless. Beside this, Alaçatı is one of the important surf/kiteboard destinations in Turkey.

For many years, Açatı is very famous for windsurfing. With the rising trend of kiteboarding in Turkey, quickly, it became very famous place for kiteboarders. Its spesific wind and different conditions made Alaçatı very famous among sports people from the beginners to the professionals as well as fun-seeking people.
There are two kite beaches that you can ride in Alaçatı. Depending on the wind direction, people can go either one of these kite beaches for ride and lessons. Occasionally, with the south wind, it is possible to ride on the beach opposite to the Port Alaçatı(marina). But the main kite beach is on the way after this spot. People mainly get there by car, but some of the schools are also providing boat transfer.

- The Wind: With its strong wind, it is possible to take lesson or having a session in any moment of the day. The wind direction is sideshore-onshore relative to the place of the schools. Some days it is possible to ride even early in the morning. As the sunset time comes, wind strength is getting lower. During the season, average wind speed is about 17-20+ knots.
- The Water: At the kitespot, water can be a bit choppy depending on the wind speed. But this is not a problem either training or riding. Seabottom is sandy and there isn’t any sharp objects or other things, so you won’t need any booties. As we look into the temperature, you can feel the chillness in the water but is is a perfect solution for the hot temperatures during the summer.
- The Beach: Kite beach is located in a small bay. But there is enough space for both training and parking the kites. On the kitebeach, where the schools is located, the ground is hard w,th small stones. Unfortunately there is no sandy beach. The kitebeach is located about 7 kilometers from the Alaçatı town center and after 10-15 minutes of driving you will be on the kitespot. Some of the schools provides shuttle services from the land or from the sea.
- Accommodation and the Food: There are infinite options in such a holiday heaven, Alaçatı, for accommodation. From stone houses to comfy hotes, from pensions to boutique hotels there are many many options for your need and budget. As well as accommodation, you can find limitless options for the food for your taste and feel free to explore Turkish Cousine. It is good to remind you that there is no restaurant or cafe on the kitebeach, so it is good to be peraped before get there.
With its good wind and great atmosphere, Alaçatı is one of the best kite spots in Turkey to have a satisfying kiteboarding holiday. Alaçatı is the destination for people whose wants to get involved into the sport and whom want to improove thir riding skills.
